I have a wide range of experience and more than 30 years of experience as a writer and editor. I began my editing career as a software documentation editor and have been editing books for nearly 15 years.
I began my writing career as a newspaper reporter on a small paper in Florida right out of college and worked in other organizations as a writer until 1997, when I returned to school and pursued a master's degree in technical and professional writing at Northeastern University in Boston.
Granat Editorial Services can perform a developmental edit of your nonfiction books, journal or magazine articles, business proposals, marketing materials, white papers, software manuals, online help systems, and other documents.
Overview of the Process
Developmental editing consists of a systematic evaluation of the text as a whole. A developmental edit assures you that your document is suitable for your audience. The developmental editor submits a detailed report to the client that contains the results of the evaluation and recommendations for any needed changes.
The developmental edit looks closely at the following factors:
Level of Detail
Clarity and Style
Granat Editorial Services provides copyediting services for website content, scientific or technical articles, books, proposals, marketing materials, résumés, white papers, software manuals, online help, business reports, and other documents.
I make sure that your final product is free of all errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I can also polish your text so that it effectively says exactly what you intend and delivers what your audience expects and wants.
I have worked extensively with authors who write in English as a second or third language.
Granat Editorial Services provides light, medium, English localization, and heavy edits.
Equivalent to proofreading. Appropriate for a document that has already been edited and is in its final form.
Equivalent to standard manuscript editing. Appropriate for a document that has not been edited. This type of edit includes any rephrasing that's necessary to convey the writer's meaning more clearly.
Similar to a medium-level editing, but with specific focus on ensuring that text translated into English is appropriately written for English-speaking readers.
Equivalent to standard developmental editing and medium manuscript editing combined. Appropriate for a document that has not been reviewed by an editor at any stage or a document that has aged. A heavy edit provides more extensive rewriting where needed.
